The Bushwacker

The Bushwacker sled was originally built by Thumb Truck and Equipment of Pigeon, Michigan in 1987. It was known than as Thumb Sled #12. There were a total of 13 of these "Thumb Sleds" built, but being that the builders Darryl and John Ellenbaum were superstitious, #13 does not exist.

This particular sled was later bought by Mark and Linda Branthoover of Greencastle, PA. The sled was renamed the "Bushwacker". Mark campaigned the sled up and down the East Coast where it gained the reputation of one of the most consistent and reliable sleds in the East. Mark ran the sled through the fall of 2004.

Dragon MotorSports purchased the sled from Mark in the Spring of 2005. The Bushwacker works 30+ events a year primarily in the states of Maryland, Virginia, and New York. It is operated by Steve "Hot Rod" Hastings and Temple Brizendine. The Bushwacker has kept its reputation for being one of the most consistent and reliable sleds around.

The Hammer

The Hammer sled was originally built by Vaughn Bauer and was known as Iron Man as are all of Vaughn's sleds he has built over the years. In 2009, Dragon Motorsports bought the sled from it's last owner in West Virginia.

Sinced purchased, the sled has been gone over and repainted thus becoming The Hammer. The sled is operated by Temple Brizendine and works events in the Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina areas.

Vaughn Bauer talks about the Iron Man sled here.
